Showing up

It's been a whirlwind around here of late and I've been very quiet on all social media fronts. I'll be catching you up with what I've been up to. I had a show, in a tattoo studio on May 16. My first solo show! It was an emotional roller coaster of shooting, editing, printing, hanging, general freaking out, flashes of inspiration in the middle of the night, crippling self-doubt, abject fear that I truly do suck and would now be found out, that no one would come. As exciting and productive as times like this can be it can also get kind of scary and lonely. I really thought no one would come.

Deep breath.

I was hanging the last caption as the first two people came in. I poured myself a glass of wine, several more people arrived. In less than 10 minutes my fears and doubts fell away and the evening became a great party. Some surprise guests arrived and made my night, then an old friend who I didn't know was related to one of my models, who's son's soccer coach was another friends husband, who's daughter was old friends with my son's girlfriend. Cirlces within circles, interconnected and swirling around my life, all the time. All I needed to do was show up.

Here are some pics from the show. When it comes down next month I'll be selling some pieces on my site.
